The Apple of My Eye
Once upon a time life was just you and your partner. Then your child was born, and suddenly you became something new:
A family.
You’ve discovered that a little bit of them plus a little bit of you makes for a whole new, one of a kind person. You love the glimpses you get of yourself, the little snippets of your partner flashing through, but most of all you love this individual who is totally unique.
In the early days, your child is the centre of your world. Everything they say or do is incredible, you secretly think they're a genius, and almost certainly the cutest kid who has ever lived. They fill your whole life and most of your days.
You feel like your heart is full to bursting, and you couldn’t possibly love them anymore. Then as they grow, you find new things to love, and new sides of their personality that make you fall in love even more.
You love this family dynamic with your solo child. You love the relationship you have with each other, and the one-on-one time you get to enjoy.
Maybe life has chosen for you, and you aren’t able to have any more children, or maybe your family feels complete as it is, and you know this is the right fit. Life is perfect as it is, so why would you want to change?
Or maybe you feel like there are more children in your future, but you want a chance to celebrate this chapter in your life, where your first child is the centre of your world.
When was the last time you really sat down and thought about how perfect your little family unit is? When was the last time you stopped and thought about what it is that makes your child special, of all those unique things you love, and the things that make the relationship between you so remarkable?

About The Love Letter Project
I am looking for some perfectly imperfect families with 1 child to join us in The Love Letter Project, Chapter 3 - The Apple of My Eye. At the end of the project I am going to make a book of how perfect families are in all their shapes and sizes, and I'd love to invite you to join.

When I’m not photographing babies and families or teaching other parents how to tell their own story through photos, I’m juggling life with three little boys, trying not to eat too much chocolate, and staying up way too late to Do All The Things. Once upon a time my ultimate excitement was exploring exotic places around the world with a camera in hand. These days it’s exciting enough making sure all poos end up in the toilet and kids don’t destroy each other before bedtime. I wouldn’t have it any other way.
